Flat out like a lizard drinking
Most of the people I work with have crazy days. They run from one meeting to another, jump from one project to the next and on top of this, they try to stay afloat with the number of emails they are receiving. They are literally catching their tail all day long. In Australia we have an expression for this, they are ‘flat out like a lizard drinking.’
By the end of the day, they are exhausted, and for some people they finish their day wondering whether they have achieved anything significant.
Bonjour, in this video I would like to share one simple suggestion which can make your day much more productive.
Start your day clarifying the one thing.
At the start of your working day, I suggest you take one minute before jumping into the madness of the day. Open your calendar, look at your day and ask yourself this simple question: “What is the one thing that if I really focus on and accomplish today, will have the most impact long-term?”
That’s it. Nothing more.
I know you will do more than one thing. But ask yourself at the start of the day what is the one thing which will have the most impact, the one thing you shouldn’t procrastinate or delay because of its impact long term.
Therefore, at the end of the day, even if you haven’t done all what you have wanted to do, if you do this one thing you will leave a great sense of accomplishment.
This is my suggestion for this week. I hope you enjoy it. It’s so easy to practice it. Block this one minute at the start of every day, and I guarantee this will make a big difference.
Have a wonderful day.
P.S. Whenever you’re ready… here are 4 ways I can help you be in control
1. Grab a free copy of my weekly plan
It is a simple tool but very important process to spend 2hrs more per day on your business and personal priorities.
2. Check my video blogs
For my clients, I record regular tips to keep the momentum on challenging their work habits. I have now made the previous video blogs available to all.
3. Get a copy of my book, Work Smarter: Live Better
Pushed by my clients, I wrote a book about practical ways to transform your life by changing your work habits.
4. Work with me and my team privately
If you are feeling swamped: by emails, by meetings, by things to do and you’d like me and my team to work directly with you … just send me an email and tell me a little about your team and business, and what you’d like to work on together, and I’ll personally be in touch!
