Bonjour, in this video, I want to share a simple technique to quickly relax.

When I work with a team, we cover many areas to help them with their ways of working. One of the key areas is time management. All too often people forget another very important topic in addition to managing their time. They often forget how to manage their energy.

Many people are working hard all day from the minute they start in the morning to the minute they stop in the evening: trying to cope with their emails, going from one meeting to another and trying to fit in everything they have to do. However, at the end of the day they feel exhausted, as if they have been on a treadmill all day.

Many forget the importance of managing their energy.

It is absolutely essential for your performance and your well-being to learn how to re-energize yourself throughout the day. How? One simple suggestion: every 45 minutes have a little break. Even if it is a four-to-five-minute break. Every 45 minutes, maximum every 1h30, have a break: go for a little walk, do a little stretch, slow down.

I recommend a very simple exercise to do which is called 3- 4- 5. What does it mean? Sit at your desk, close your eyes, take a deep breath for 3 seconds, hold it in for 4 and exhale for 5. It’s so simple!

Do this for three to four minutes and you will see how it can really help you to relax.

My team and I are often training leaders and their teams, and some of our sessions are quite long. We always make sure that every 45mn there is a little breather like the above 3- 4 -5 exercise or a few simple stretches. Considering so many online training sessions are recorded, I should one day publish a video showing all the funny breathers I have done with my clients.
