Bonjour. In this video, I want to share the equipment I use to improve the experience for my clients and I, regarding video meetings.

Since the start of COVID most of us are now spending hours per day on video calls. All my meetings are done via Zoom, Webex or Teams. This is also relevant for all the speeches and training I am delivering during this current climate. Consequently, many people have decided to upgrade their equipment.

Over the last few months, I have been asked many times by my clients about the type of video equipment I use. They ask me what camera I use, what microphone I use and so on. Some of you may remember a previous video blog I recorded when I was in Hotel Quarantine last year. I spoke about and showed you the type of equipment, I take with me when I travel or work away from my home office.

Today I want to share with you the equipment I have set up in my home office.

You may think this is not that important. I disagree. When you spend hours per day online, having the right equipment makes a big difference to you and to the people on the other side of the screen.

Firstly, let us start with the camera. Let me show you the difference between the computer integrated camera and the external camera I use. You can definitely notice the difference in quality. The camera I use is the Canon EOS 200D and I connect this camera to a box called blackmagicdesign which is then connected to my computer.

Secondly, to get a better video image I also use an external light called the Nanlite Florza60. Let me show you the difference with and without. Night and day if I may say so!

Thirdly, let us focus on the microphone. Again, I will show you the difference between the integrated microphone of my laptop and the external microphone I use, called the RODE NT-USB. The sound is so much better with the external one.

Finally, for the sound I use the Apple AirPods pro. They are Bluetooth, so no need for any cords and the sound is very clear.

Therefore, if you are hoping to upgrade your home office and improve the quality of your online meetings, then I highly recommend using the equipment I have suggested. The person who advised me is an expert videographer. Despite having to invest a bit of money buying and setting up the equipment, I can guarantee it will be so worth it.

This is this week’s work smarter: live better tip. “Get the right equipment to look pro on video!”

A bientôt,
Cyril

P.S. Whenever you’re ready… here are 4 ways I can help you be in control

1. Grab a free copy of my weekly plan

4. Work with me and my team privately
If you are feeling swamped: by emails, by meetings, by things to do and you’d like me and my team to work directly with you … just send me an email and tell me a little about your team and business, and what you’d like to work on together, and I’ll personally be in touch!
